This is a D45 from the 1970 so it has just missed out on Brazilian rosewood. The Indian rosewood back & sides, abalone hexagon fingerboard inlays, vertical CF Martin peghead logo, abalone trim on the top back and sides are all features of D45s after 1969 and even though it may not have the coveted Brazilian, this is still a very fine guitar.
The prior owner had this to say:”Original finish and original parts. Low serial number 2674XX. Some finish checking on the top and a few light scuffs here and there. This guitar is very clean with little wear on the frets and fretboard. Back of the neck is very clean with no worn spots from playwear.
Abalone pieces are all intact and look amazing. The tone on this guitar is indescribable, lows and highs perfectly balanced. The action is set up perfectly. The neck is in its original neck set. The wood on the top looks like Engleman or German Spruce. The Rosewood is some of the best I have ever seen, it has very complex tiny grain patterns with nice coloring. “
