I met Denis at the A.S.I.A Symposium and got a top from him. I decided to make one of my Mungus models which is a small jumbo shape.


The wood is very nice and has some bearclaw figure. I am putting the finishing touches on it still and will be headed to Newport with it in a few days.

I initially braced the top with a pattern I have been experimenting with only to have the top dry out further in my shop. I had to remove the bracing and when I re-braced it, I used a more conventional layout with two tone bars and a large X-brace.

This is Martin Fair of Fairbuilt Guitar Co. I wanted to point out that we have now made it to the Newport Guitar Festival and back. The guitar has a smooth and powerful tone and sounds great with a flatpick. Another bit of added information is that my shop is located near Purcellville VA and not in NM as listed above.
