Well, I own a beautiful McKnight OM that is quite simply one of the best guitars I’ve ever played. Loud, responsive, balanced. I’d put a ToneRite on it, but I’d be afraid the neighbors might complain about the resulting volume.
Seriously, Tim is making some of the best guitars out there. Keep up the great work Tim and Mary.

I met Tim and Mary at IBMA in 2005. I wasn’t ready to buy a guitar, but Tim handed me one, and I couldn’t leave without it. It’s a “slope D” with black acacia back and sides, and a caucasian spruce top. I get so many questions about it at shows and concerts because its sound is so rich. Tim and Mary are wonderful people as well. I can’t recommend them or their guitars highly enough!

What a wonderful article! Tim and Mary are a great couple who are very dedicated in their collaborative guitar design and build activities. I currently have Tim building a special guitar for me and will be picking it up at Healdsburg 2011. Really looking forward to it!

Great article! I was one of those blindfolded customers. You listen with your ears, your heart and your hands. I came home with a wonderful guitar that is used several times a week in my music ministry. Tim and Mary were both instrumental in helping me build my first guitar as well. And yes, it is a fantastic journey!

I’ve played a few McKnight guitars and they are truly works of art, both visually and acoustically. Tim’s attention to detail is second to none and the tone he builds into his guitars is almost magical!( That’s why I’m on the build list!) Tim & Mary are also two of the coolest people you’ll ever meet.

My wife and I had the privilege of sitting down and talking with Tim and Mary McKnight and playing several of their instruments at the Newport Guitar Festival in Fort Lauderdale this year. These are truly special people and special instruments.
