Stephen Guitars | New Zealand, 2008 | “Unfinished III”

Here’s a photograph I have very pleased with. It is a composed, non studio shot taken at the New Zealand work shop of Stephen Guitars. I used the light from a frosted window to create the shadows and tried my best to capture the texture of the unfinished wood.

The top, seen here is Red Western Cedar with an inlaid rosette. he back and sides are of Blackthorn, an acacia species related to Koa.

This is parlor sized guitar intended to be strung with nylon strings and braced for a warm, intimate tone.
