Here is a nice example of an unconverted prewar 028K. Similar to the 018K’s this is an all koa small bodied guitar- the main differences are the upgraded aesthetics- herringbone trim and more elaborate fingerboard inlays. In general the 28s had more figured koa than the lower series.
The previous owner has this to say about this instrument “Beautiful figured Koa wood, Herringbobe trim, Ivroid binding, 1 7/8″ at the nut. The action is good at the 12th fret but dips on the body. It has a replacement belly bridge, There are 2 cracks on the top, one on the back. They appear to have been stablized. The neck looks as if it has been recently reset but could use a shim under the tongue on the body. There one reglued brace on the inside. Everything else appears to be original.”
