This is an early, ornate L’arrivee from 1982. This was made during the period after Jean moved away from Victoria and back to the mainland. The inlay was hand engraved by Wendy L’arrivee and is not shown in the currently L’arrivee catalog.
The previous owner has this to say about this instrument “a beautiful Larrivee L-28 built in 1982. This guitar with Florentine cutaway was built using East Indian rosewood, back and sides. The top is made from sitka spruce. Neck is mahogany. The fingerboard and bridge are ebony. This guitar has generous mother of pearl inlay, featuring a Wendy Larrivee seahorse on the headstock.
This rare guitar is in nearly mint condition except for a few very light surface pick scratches near the sound hole. They are not apparent. This guitar has rarely been played and has mostly been stored away in it’s case. The case included with this Larrivee L-28 is not original but it’s a quality hardshell case. The guitar has a new set of strings and plays beautifully.”

Has it been sold?
Hi, I was wondering if this guitar is still for sale. I currently have a 1978 Martin D28 but have been looking for a Larrivee with a florentine cutaway. I also have a family connection regarding seahorses. “Little Seahorse” by Bruce Cockburn was a somg that I sang to my daughter before she was born. Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul
As far as I know it’s sold Paul.
