So the summer auction’s continue! Christie’s is holding a Fine Instrument auction in New York and amongst the violins are a scattering of vintage and modern Martin. There are 49 lots with an introduction by Graham Nash who states: “The proceeds from the following 49 lots will benefit the Martin Guitar Charitable Foundation.”
Before you go rushing into placing a bid, do bear in mind that there are application fees and the Buyer’s Premium for lots below $50,000 is 25% and 20% for those $50,000-$1,000,000. Then there are sales taxes…
